Ceremonial Rites
1st Floor Gallery
A group exhibition featuring the works of Chicago based photographers Max Li, Natasha Moustache, Seed Lynn, Katon Blackburn, Sulyiman Stokes, Adebola Oshipitan and Tafari Melisizwe. The theme of this exhibition is the importance of bridging communities through photography and how these relationships form rituals amongst people. The rituals each community carries is vital when showing resilience and expressions of love during times of uncertainty. It allows us to bond and forge meaningful relationships that sustain growth. Photography is a way for communities to connect and see reflections of themselves in each other. It’s another sacred practice that requires a ritual process of observation by the photographers and acceptance from those documented.
“What are the rights to the ceremony?” - Seed Lynn
Exhibition Runtime: July 12 - August 27
